Who we are
Eraya Travel is a luxury travel advisory based in the United States, operating at erayatravel.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or submit an inquiry, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
This website is intended for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information through this site, please contact us at courtnie@erayatravel.com and we will delete it promptly.
What information we collect
When you submit a travel inquiry through our Plan Your Journey form, we collect the following information you provide voluntarily: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), travel preferences, destination interests, budget range, and any additional details you share in the free-text fields.
When you subscribe to Postcards from Eraya, our newsletter, we collect your email address.
When you visit our website, we also collect certain technical information automatically through Google Analytics, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on the site, and referral source. This data is aggregated and used to understand how visitors use our website.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to respond to your travel inquiry personally and to design and communicate your bespoke itinerary. We use your email address, if you have subscribed, to send occasional editorial content through our newsletter. We use aggregated analytics data to improve our website and understand our audience.
We do not use your information to serve you advertisements. We do not sell your information to any third party. Ever.
Third parties we work with
Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about website usage. Google may process this data on servers located outside the United States. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Email platform — Our newsletter is managed through a third-party email service provider. When you subscribe to Postcards from Eraya, your email address is stored and processed by this platform in accordance with their own privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter email.
Fora Travel — Eraya operates in partnership with Fora Travel. Where relevant to the planning and booking of your journey, your travel details may be shared with Fora Travel. Fora Travel's privacy practices govern their handling of your information.
Payment processing — Eraya does not process payments through this website. Any financial transactions related to your journey are handled separately and directly, and are not subject to this policy.
How we store and protect your information
This website is hosted on Squarespace, which maintains industry-standard security measures including SSL encryption. We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Inquiry data is retained for the duration of our advisory relationship and for a reasonable period thereafter.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to request deletion. If you are a resident of California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale — though we do not sell personal information under any circumstances.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at courtnie@erayatravel.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to support website functionality and to enable Google Analytics. By continuing to use this website, you consent to the use of cookies in accordance with this policy. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time, though doing so may affect certain website functionality.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, please contact us at courtnie@erayatravel.com or through the contact page at erayatravel.com/contact.
Important note for Courts: Before publishing, this should be reviewed by a lawyer familiar with US digital privacy law, particularly if she has clients in California (CCPA) or the European Union (GDPR). GDPR in particular requires a cookie consent banner and specific language around data transfers outside the EU — none of which this policy currently covers in full. If the email platform is Mailchimp or a similar US-based provider, their Data Processing Agreement should also be in place. These are not optional in those jurisdictions.
